Make Your Pitch - Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park

So today we're following up on a recent episode of the podcast, and starting a possible new subseries called "Make Your Pitch" (partially inspired by the reboot it channel, credit where it's due). And what better way to kick off this new series than pitching a new version of Jurassic Park that would be a mini series and more faithful to the book?

Reimagining and Adapting: Godzilla

On today's episode of One Cross Radio, we're kicking off a potential new sub-series!

 

Using the 1998 Tristar and the 2014 Legendary American 'Godzilla' movies, along with 2016's Shin Godzilla from Toho, we're looking at how you can successfully or unsuccessfully reimagine and adapt a character/property and bring it to a new audience (or time). What makes some work more than others? Does it have to be purely what was there before? Tune in to find out!

Where Should They Go?

On today's episode of One Cross Radio (which may or may not have been decided by a coin toss), we're talking about the importance of franchises/movies needing a plan to continue, and to illustrate we're using the examples of Bond, Jurassic Park, and Halloween.

 

Now these are three very different franchises, but all are in a similar position currently; all three recently had big story enders, and are in the position of "where do they go from here?".

 

Explore with us as we look at how these long running franchises could continue, if in the age of IP everything needs to be a franchise, and how things can be easy yet get needlessly complicated.

On today's episode of One Cross Radio, we're diving back into disaster territory and looking at the infamous 1916 Jersey Shore Shark Attacks.
